Why do Poles love Wrocław? Not only because of its fabulous Market Square and hundreds of picturersque footbridges. Wrocław, the capital of Lower Silesia, offers plenty of amazing events such as the Guitar Festival and Brave Festival. Wrocław is the European Capital of Culture 2016.

Festivals and events

In Wroclaw there are organized lots of artistic events. In February Polish Contemporary Music Festival, in the spring (March/April) - "Port Wroclaw" Literary Festival. In the spring there is also Jazz Upon Oder Festival, organized since 1954. In April there is Review of Drama Song, at the turn of April and May Asymmetry Festival (event for the artists experimenting with rock, metal and electronic music) and "KAN" International Amatour And Independent Cinema Festival. A month later, at the turn of May and June, there is "Simcha" Jewish Culture Festival, then at the turn of June and July - "Non-stop" Wroclaw Cultural Festival. Wroclaw has recently been famous for Nowe Horyzonty (New Horizons) Festival and summer vacation National Review of Music (previously named Big Star Festival, currently Przestrzeń Muzyki - Music Space) which is becoming more and more popular. Wroclaw's Organ Summer takes place between July and September. Brave Festival - Against Exclusion From Culture and "Wratislavia Cantans" International Festival of Oratorio and Cantata Music take place in September. Besides, every two years in October Theatre Dialog Festival is organized and in November Wroclaw's Guitar Festival and Wroclaw's Meetings of One Actor Theatres and Little Theatre Forms.
